  • I managed to buy it today, together with a £14.99 mp3 player and asked to take out the replacement insurance with both items. For the £14.99 one i paid £2.99 insurance and the ipod insurance was £9.99. Looking at the form my receipt is attached to, the £2.99 premium is for items costing between £10 and £14.99 and the £9.99 premium is for items priced £40-£49.99,should i not have been charged the premium for the item i bought at the price i bought it i.e £4.99 for items priced £15-£29.99 ?

  • Does anyone know if these are any good? I was thinking of getting one for my son who is 8. My eldest son has the next one up and wondered if the 8 year old would be disappointed. I'm hoping he won't know the difference unless someone tells him!
  • The ipod shuffle which is currently half price in Argos

    http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5130470.htm

is a good purchase as long as you bear in mind a few points:

1 It is the old model
2 It has no display which can be frustrating
3 It can only hold up to 120 songs

Still good value at the price, but will look quite different to his brothers ipod

  • I would personally go for the Samsung model selling for £29.99. Its easy to use and looks great. iPods are good mp3 players but the iTunes software you have to use to load your music is just shocking. I'm a technical guy and I find it extremely un-user friendly. With the Samsung and other mp3 players you see it as an extra drive on your PC and just drag and drop music. Dead simple.

There are plenty of alternatives to itunes to transfer songs to an ipod, even for the Shuffle - try Anapod for instance:

Would this work for a Motorola mobile? Hubby got a new phone a couple of months ago and still cannot work out how to get music onto with iTunes
