8yr having bad nightmares

Yes, like a lot of others who have posted this sounds very familiar to me.My son had them but not my daughter.
He would scream out ,I would go into his room and he looked awake.he would scream "Help me mummy don't let them get me" over and over again he would be wet with sweat and in a terrible state, shaking and crying. Needless to say it was very upsetting to experience. In the morning he could remember nothing.
I would just hold him and keep saying to him that it was ok and I was here and I would look after him. I think it lasted about six months.0
