Travel Insurance Quote - Columbus

Hiya, just a quickie -

My husband and I are off to the USA for a fortnight. We only want a single trip policy as we get European cover through our current account.

The best quote I've found is Columbus' silver policy. It's £73.92 for the two of us (this includes cover for my husband's asthma - he takes more than two meds for it). Does this sound reasonable? I've been through all the specialist insurers (who cover medical conditions) and tried all the recommendations that I've found in other threads on here but I just wanted to do a final check before I pay.

Many thanks

Have you checked whether you can upgrade your bank policy from Europe to worldwide as that may be cheaper?

If you are with NW, you can upgrade for an extra £20 to cover worldwide.

This seem reasonable, been trying to cover son for his mild asthma, take 2 inhalers when he feels like it and the premium pumbed to an extra £30. For 3 weeks in the Philippines Columbus direct is asking £63.14.
  • Many thanks - will contact our bank insurer just to check how much extra they'd want. I was told by a couple of insurers that I rang that it was a particularly steepextra charge due to potential medical bills in the USA being so high. It's good to know that I haven't missed a trick! :)
