Car insurance renewal Help please

Hi i have just received my renewal quote and from last year the quote has gone up £6000 from £1500 for my first full year of insurance, obviously this is not right so i have cancelled the policy with liverpool victoria! i have now been searching around for a better deal and have managed to find cheaper options, the question is about my no claims bonus, am i entitled to it from liverpool victoria, i have been insured for 1 year, however the reason i asked is i rang them up after an minor bump i had, no other car had been damaged, no injuries and no claims were made, i was intending to make a claim but it worked out cheaper to not make one and get repairs done from my own pocket, now on my renewal form it says 0% no claim discount and under claims or accidents it says Febuary 2011, do i still have a years no claims to use in getting a better deal with another company?
Thanks
Thanks

If you have had an accident with no other vehicles involved then you have had an 'own fault' accident. A lot of insurers don't just ask 'have you had any claims' but ask 'claims/accidents or incidents'.Unless you can get Liverpool Victoria to provide you with 'proof' of 'no claims' then you are stuck with 0 NCB. As you have informed Liverpool Victoria about this 'incident/accident' then you must make any new insurer aware of it when searching for quotes otherwise it may come back to bite you.0

An own fault accident yes, and it must be declared.
But if a claim wasn't made, the ncd should still be a year.
Phone LV and ask what they have paid out on, and why they consider it a claim.0 -
