my partner and i have been on income based jobseekers for a while now over 26 weeks due to partner being made redundant finally he found a job brilliant his new employer told him to start 6th of april and he would write comfirming everything by monday he never had a letter so he rang his new boss and they said to start the 11th at 8:30 he signed off jobseekers last tues when he went to working links thinking he was starting the 6th
he received his p45 which is good but he was supposed to have the 4 week run on with jobseekers, housing and council tax but today he had a letter from jobseekers saying they were paying him 0ne weeks worth and thats it coz he doesnt qualify for the run on i dont no why hes never missed an appointment, never been sanctioned and hasnt had a break in the claim and then we had another letter our housing benefit and all has been stopped due to jobseekers i dont no what were going to do because he gets paid monthly so dont know if he will be paid a bit end of april or got to wait til may
has anyone had this problem before thanks

You dont get a run on with jsa, that will stop as soon as he signed off but if he's been on jsa for 26 weeks or more with no break he should get the 4 week c/tax and h/b run on. He is also entitled to a back to work grant (which for a joint claim is £200 or £250 i think) and up to £100 for work items (e.g. uniform, work boots etc). If I were you i'd make an appt or just go into jobcentre and sit down with an advisor asking about all these things. It may be that someone hasn't looked at the claim properly.
Regarding his month in hand you may now be entitled to working tax credit if he's on a low wage which will help see you through the month and if things get really tight you could always apply for a crisis loan.0
