Soz if this has already been covered elsewhere...

Just cancelled my lost Oyster card which had a weekly travel card on it, plus £12 or so pay as you go balance.

Just been told that the latter is protected and will be credited to my replacement card, but the former is probably lost now because it'll take up to 5 days to receive the new card by which time the travel card will expire.

Why can't the travel card be protected as well as the pay as you go amount?! An outstanding balance would be nice at least!

Travelcards are protected.

You need to pick up a new Oyster card from a tube station or ticket office. Then call the Oyster helpline to transfer the travelcard to the new Oystercard.
