Clarity reward card refused

in Credit cards
I applied for a Clarity reward card in the Halifax office, my application didn't go through as the computer crashed, so the advisor applied again and it asked for identity so she photocopied my driving licence and the second time it went through
Received a letter yesterday turning me down. I didn't have the correct number of points, I couldn't have one unless my situation changed
I have never had an overdraft, don't owe anything and never have, I always pay my cc at Nationwide off in full each month. Have enough funds to finance it. I feel very offended.
I phone the local Halifax office and was told that it was because the computer had crashed and they would have thought that I had applied twice.
If at any time later I decide to apply for a credit card will they hold that against me, I don't need the Clarity card as I still have my Nationwide one, but if I ever close my Nationwide account down then I probably will need one.

There are dozens of cards out there for you to apply for - don't take offence if one turns you down.0

We had just opened three reward accounts, one in joint names, hubby and I both asked for the Clarity reward card, he was accepted and I wasn't.
I decided I didn't want one anyway then, if it was due to a computer error then fair enough I am not a bad risk,(we don't even have a mortgage and no debts so shouldn't be anyway)as long as it doesn't prevent me from getting another one.
I can't help feeling affronted though ;-)0
