..I thought there was a "proper" way to do it. A friend mentioned banks used to do a "budgeting account".
They did indeed, but that was about 25, or 30 years ago! Budgeting accounts were basically current accounts where you had to pay a set amount in every month to cover all your bills. You can do this with any current account, and most basic accounts, anyway, so the budgeting accounts were discontinued as they didn't offer anything different.0 -
Trinode. I bank with RBS, I have moved my account to a Glasgow branch to avoid Santander and yes, you can see all of your accounts via the same online ID0

i have 2 current accs with RBS - wages go into the one where the dd's come off then rest gets transfered out
also i get paid every 4 weeks as well and works well for me0
