Car claim question

Can someone in the know answer a question or two about car insurance claims? Why do you sometimes have to draw a sketch and fill in a form saying where you were, where the other car was, how fast you were going and all the rest? But other people can do it all over the phone and nobody wants a picture or an explanation other than a few words to establish that you were driving?

Different insurers have different methods of operating.
In addition to this simple accidents are very easy to deal with, other accidents you know you are going to have a dispute on liability and probably will need to exchange diagrams with the other side. All posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

You will generally find thesedays the majority will register the claim over the phone taking all relevanet details. However if the incident involved a third party and moreso if liability may be in dispute they will ask for a claim form and/or diagram to further your case0
