Apart from the useful advice above, have you discussed it with the OT? Someone should be able to come out and look at where she will be staying and give advice about making it safe.0

The OT has been out and has decided that it is the only suitable room in the house, that she can't safely get to the toilet even with help etc. She wasn't prepared to suggest any way of making it safe... get the feeling they just want to shunt her home. We're also struggling to get an adequately detailed support plan in writing :mad:Eat food. Not too much. Mostly plants - Michael Pollan

Daska you can ask for another OT to visit - perhaps one who is more sympathetic to the impaired mobility with the dementia, as opposed to just the mobility issue.
I'd just like to say that I'm sorry about your mum having dementia - it's a horrible illness, and I'm praying you'll have more 'good' days than bad.0
