Upgrading old HSBC to Premier, credit rating issues?

I've had Premier appear under my HSBC online banking offers for some time, and now they have written personally inviting me to apply for it, but this time offering 6 months free trial without having to meet usual qualifying criteria. So they sound keen, and it would have valuable perks, but I am concerned about credit rating issues backfiring on me.

I currently hold one of their regular Bank Accounts, and their regular Mastercard, both for many years since they were called Midland Bank. Neither ever appear on any CRA reports. This suits me as the MC has a high available limit in relation to my present income, so I think could scare off other lenders if they saw that.

So, my 2 specific concerns about responding to the offer by phoning them are:

Could it happen they freshly credit vet me and as a result, not only reject the upgrade, but actually downgrade my MC limit, because I would have to admit I am currently unemployed or whatever?

If they do accept me, would my accounts then start appearing on CRA reports, despite currently being invisible?

I would be interested to hear from anyone elses experiences of what happens when you try to upgrade old HSBC accounts.
