Apple back to school offers

Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone remembered the dates the apple back to school promotion ran last year?
I am planning to get a macbookpro and realise that I would qualify for the moneyback toward an iPod etc. bought at the same time. I have seen from t&c on the apple website that it covered valid purchases from the last week of may 2010.
Does anyone recall when it started last year?
Thanks.

    Fingers crossed!

From what ive read the back to school offer is going to launch tomorrow - but rather then giving away a free ipod etc - its going to be a $100 itunes voucher (according to US sites)

Im was waiting to buy a new machine - but not sure the gift card really is a big deal for me - rarely buy music, and dont bother with 'apps' so will prob just sell it on for 70.

Discount wise... the macbook pro is £1k ... uni discount makes it £849. But the big win is applecare - usual price is £203, uni price is £48 ....

So £907 for £1203 worth of stuff ... and the gift card assumign the UK has the same promo

Yip I've seen this on macrumors and hope they are wrong. They usually offer a free printer and ipod (both via rebate) as well as the student discount. I've been holding off buying for the free ipod and really can't see me using the itunes card that much. Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Does the extra 48 provide anything over the 3 years free cover that you get when you are a student ? This always has me baffled

    Thanks

The student warranty you get online is very limited, you are better paying the £48 to upgrade it to the normal applecare.

Okay phew thankyou ! was going to get the high res screen rather than the apple care for £60. What in particular is specific about it ? as I am not to bothered about the extra phone support..

    Thanks again!

    Hmmm

I think I might wait a while and see, does anyone know if the mbp is due an update?
  • Bit deflated with the promo. Had hoped to purchase the 160Gb classic iPod and consolidate all my music in one place. £65 iTunes voucher really isn't anything to me i've struggled to spend a £15 voucher as it is and I think they issue you with a code for you to download to your account. So not sure how to sell it on. Been waiting for ages now, I wouldn't be so gutted if it was an apple voucher but with iTunes nooooo!
Ziggy mbp was updated in April I think so next update not due for a while now.
    Oh well, will I or won't I?
