They are quirky and quintessentially British, making the trusty Black Cab a unique wedding car. You can try to grab one from the streets, but what you are getting is a working public transport vehicle, like a number 95 night bus! Even a cabby who takes real pride in his taxi which is quite rare, will not have it cleaned to the level where you would chance it in a white wedding dress of rented suit. Sadly if you are paying the metered fair, you don't really get any special treatment, so ribbons unlikely and a clean vehicle less so.
You can still save money though by using a London Taxi wedding car compared to a traditional Rolls or Limo, but perhaps not as much as hoped. There are specialist companies that deal with London Taxis Ido taxi mentioned above is one, whitelondontaxis.co.uk and weddingtaxi.com are a couple of others.
Cheaper than most traditional cars, unique and loads of room for the dress, but properly cleaned and dressed vehicle (same for the driver too) and yours for a fixed time, so no panic on the meter running up. My sister wanted to have one for her wedding.
I grew up with cabs, so personally I am going for a challenger II tank in UN white livery, just need to convince the misses and find the wheel barrow of cash needed!!!:D0
