Barclarcard Platinum – What's the average credit limit ???

Hi All,
I received the a Barclaycard platinum offer letter this morning. I have excellent credit rating from all three credit rating agencies. I pay all my bills by direct debit from my Barclays bank account. no missed or late payments or any adverse negative marks on my credit history. In terms of available credit - I have one credit card from HSBC with a small credit limit of only £1700, I hardly use it but when I do I only pay the minimum by direct debit.
My credit reports show that all my bills & one mortgage (buy-to-let) etc........about 7 payments are paid on time every month.
Which brings me to my question. if I accept the Barclaycard Platinum - what is the average credit limit for this card or what limits have you been offered recently?
As I do not want to accept the card and later to find out when the card drops in my mail box.........all I get is a petty small credit limit of say...£1000 or £2000. Basically trying to avoid Barclaycard stomping its foot prints on my credit report, just to find out that the credit limit provided on the card is too small to warrant a credit search that would stay on my file for one whole year.
Thanks

Was it an invitation to apply or did it offer guaranteed acceptance? If it is guaranteed they may not need to "stomp".I received the a Barclaycard platinum offer letter this morning.
You didn't ask but I presume you know this isn't normally the best idea as it may take ages to repay.I only pay the minimum by direct debit. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Yes, The letter says “Guaranteed acceptance” and that all I have to do is sign at the agreement at the back of the same letter – all my details already pre-printed on the letter. It’s also says that this offer is offered to selected Barclays customers and that I am one of them…blah blah blah. It ends with that I have to sign and return the letter before the end of this month in order to benefit from the offer.
So you think they may not stomp all over my credit reports?
Thanks for the advise in advance.0
