I have just used the pricing service on music magpie and to be honest i thought it was a waste of time they didn't offer that much money for some of my cd's and dvd's.
I was/am wondering if anyone has got a good deal from them and what they sell used dvd and cd's for when they get rid of them.

I used MM once and was surprised at how little was offered for some things and how much they offered for others. They seem to offer a lot for kiddies movies and boxsets. But sometimes when the box sets weren't recognised I found that I could make more money by listing each item in the box set seperately. But their payment service is abysmal - way over the quoted time for payment and paying by cheque gives them a few more days delay. I wouldn't use them again if they can't keep to their word on payment.The man without a signature.0

They resell them on Playtrade and Amazon Marketplace, undercutting every other seller. I've used them a few times and was happy with them. They don't offer much, but a lot of the CDs/DVDs I have sold were ones that I have been unable to sell somewhere else. A lot of it is just convenience really. Even if I had been able to sell the items on Amazon/ebay once I had taken the fees and packaging into account I would not have made much more. You do need to check the prices of everything you are thinking of listing first of all, especially if you have stuff that isn't mainstream. They are quite slow paying up, but I have always received my money.0

I have used MM and found that they offered pretty low values for items. However, recently I discovered CEX who paid considerably more than MM - it is worth checking them out as an alternative.0

Is this is definite then as I just haven't seen any evidence that they are the same company other than a random couple of comments on that thread. Just wondered if it was a certainty now?0 -
Well whilst I was disappointed with the amount that MM were offering on some of the cds / dvds I wanted to get rid of, I was happy to get it as OH had wanted to bin them !2014 Target;

We shifted a load of Cd's to them and got just over £200. A few of the higher value ones were sold separately on ebay but the time taken to list them all wouldn't have been worth the extra. I was more than happy with the service.
I reckon that within the next year or so, none rare CD's will soon be unsellable, a bit like vinyl is now so my advice would be start to get rid.0 -
How much did you expect MM to offer you, bearing in mind that non rare 2nd hand discs sell for very little?0
