problems getting on line

A friend of the missus decided to join the 21st century and get Broadband.
They ignored my advice and decided to go with AOL, they also have a "tiny"
computer
They got a netgear wireless router from AOL but didn't have
either a wireless card or an ethernet card. I lent them a spare wireless
card and they bought an ethernet card. I can plug my laptop into the router
via ethernet, run the AOL installation disc and get online no problem. Their
wireless card connects ok with the router but can't get online, the ethernet
card shows as enabled ok in network connections but when I try to run the
ethernet config stuff it tells me it can't find a lan card and can't get
online either. What am I doing wrong? Trying to get on using the AOL browser
or Internet explorer throws up a DNS error.

OK on their PC, Start, Settings, Network Connections, Select the Wireless card and Click on Change Settings for this card, Highlight TCP/IP and then click on Properties. Have you got Obtain IP and Obtain DNS automatically both checked? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
