My lot will move things in the right direction, but it's like trying to redirect an ocean liner with a tug. They can't change 50 years of slippage. And yes, I blame the Tories pandering to electoral whims, as much as Labour on this.
if you think the new lot will be better than the last shower, it's all a bit hopeful.

just because you have blue blood it doesn't mean there going to be any better - just more of the same for each politician prioritising their own agendas.

I simply cannot see the point of this thread. If youre going, go quietly :D

Theres advantages and disadvantages to every decision you make, Im glad you feel this is the right decision for you. Personally I wouldnt make the same move, nor, Im sure, would a fair few others, but there you go.

To be perfectly honest, the very fact that you felt the need to start this thread, lets just say I wouldnt be suggesting therapy to others. Therapy starts at home!

The joy of this thread is that there is no point to it.

There is a subtle irony in it, since Bendix's posts tend to have a point. When I say a 'point', I'm generally talking of an extremely sharp point, aimed precisely and directly at the target.

He has not promised to leave for good. He has simply decided to take up a more lucrative offer to work in Asia for a while. And I don't blame him, because it is one of the better 'gravy trains'. The only 'downside' is that you have to work hard over there. But otherwise, you get paid megabucks. Get a good bonus. Live in a much cleaner and more up-market environment. More stable economy. Hotels that make the Ritz look like a Travelodge. Only a short hop away from many of the holiday playgrounds (Thailand, Bali, Philippines, Vietnam...)

He'll be able to rent out his UK house and earn tax free 'lucre', and buy as many Rolex watches he wants at £15 a dozen. [which reminds me. I keep meaning to take some of mine into a Rolex shop. They are either fakes, or I got a 99.99% discount. I've never really bothered to find out].

So don't take his post badly. He means it in good faith. Don't take it too much to heart when he tries to fool you with throw-away comments like Britain being 'yobbish', or having to pay his hard-earned to oafish parents and Nanny State Breast Feeding Co-ordinators. He doesn't mean it. If he said what he really meant it would be far more cutting.

Yep. Therapy start at home. And home is where the heart is. Bendix's heart is in Thailand. And there's always therapy available there if you know where to go.

So let him carry on. Wish him well. He will doubtless return to UK eventually. You see there are two things he will miss over there. Firstly, a nice British 'pint'. Secondly, the opportunity to winge about idle benefit seekers, a third world health service, people who don't save for retirement, or the Nanny State - since none of these apply over there.

Do you see the irony of contributing to a thread which you think has no purpose? Huh? Do you? No, really, do you get it?

Thanks for your guidance on what I can post about and what I can't. You're invaluable, eagerly anticipated and long posting history truly qualifies you to provide such advice.

    A few points:

    1) He most certainly DOES mean it.

    2) He most certainly will NOT be heading back to the UK, except for business trips.

    3) Only the most devilish cads wear fake watches. Where is your class, man

    4) True .. I will miss the beer. And ninky.

The only 'downside' is that you have to work hard over there. .

    :eek:wot no mse time???

better stick to blighty where with a bit of savvy you get paid mega enough bucks whilst also getting plenty of time to idle away the hours on internet forums.

    Work hard, my a**e.

I work smart, not hard. A good manager builds a good team around him or herself. I always have 3 year life expectancy in jobs .. I want my people to take my job from me. Management 101.

I'll still have plenty of time for MSE, ninky, don't worry your little right-on yet oh-so-muddled head about that.

Theres no irony in pointing out when someone is full of themselves. Sadly you still dont seem to have gotten that.
You made a thread posting about your decision to leave, fair enough, and made a fair few parting shots that I think demonstrate a heavily blinkered view coloured by your desire to try and make a decision you are taking seem like a good one when it probably isnt in my view. You have had a few people wishing you well which you have haughtily accepted and a few people disagreeing with your point of view, at which point you have been dismissive and rude. If you dont want to hear from people with differing points of view dont post in a public forum, or havent you learned that yet?

Thanks for your guidance on how posting history is such an essential part to offering a viewpoint. That would be the last refuge of people with a long posting history who dont half talk some nonsense.
Im sure Ive seen a few posts from you that have been coherent and quite helpful in the past but you come across in a very different light in this thread.

I'm genuinely curious how you know so much about my personal circumstances, career history, financial situation and life goals as to conclude that my decision 'probably isn't good in your view.'
