Halifax online banking - closing down old accounts?

Can you close down old account's that you no longer need online?

I have a couple of old savings account that I would like to close down, I dont want to ring up as I have 3x reward accounts.

Any help would be great.

    I don't have any experience with Halifax but you have to go into a branch to close Lloyds TSB accounts.

    Yeh, you’re probably correct. I’ve been looking around the online site with no luck
    ... but you never know.

    You cannot close them online, I've tried. In fact, I've called and on the phone they said they can't do it because I need to go into a branch.

    When I went into a branch, they said they can't do it as they're "web accounts".

    So, I'm sorry to say, closing a Halifax account is simply not possible, online, or otherwise! :D
    You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!! My head is loosing it's hair. I'm going to take myself off the electoral role like I should of done ages ago and move to the Caribean. I already brought my plane ticket, all be it a refundable 1.

    The functionality to close accounts used to exist but was removed late last year to help accommodate changes to the web site as things move across to the LTSB way of doing things.

    Phoning up to close an account is an option, as well as going in to branch (assuming the branch know what to do!).
