Help Muculloch Garden Shredder
Hi,
I purchased a second hand Muculloch garden shredder from ebay. I have tried to use it and I'm less than impressed. It is supossed to shred branches up to about 4cm in diameter but it is refusing to shred anything over 1cm- it repeatedly stops.
It seems it probabally need some new blades (or a quick sharpen)..... so my question is this...
Does anyone know if the blades can be removed and sharpened?
and
Can the blades be replaced? If so how much and where from?
Thanks
Ruth

It isn't a very good name, one of the cheap stuff that places like Argos sell. Shredders don't work very well unless they are the good ones.
I would assume that the blades can come off, seems a pretty basic thing to me. Then you can sharpen them.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -
Hi
I have a Mcculloch shredder. 2.2kw and supposed to shred up to 5cm, which it will not. 1cm is about the normal maximum for it. The blades on mine are reversble to offer a new cutting edge, or could be sharpened with a grinder.
Stopping to unclog it and unjam it is an every 10 minute occurence.
You eventually get used to not putting anything in it that will clog it up.
It also gets clogged up behind the cutting disk which is dificult to get at.
It is in the garage in bits again at the moment :-(
Hope that helps
