Should I change over from cards

Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
Hi we have gas & elecky on pre cards, we put about average say £20 on each card aweek, should I change to direct debit or quartly? It's just the big bill at end of quart I don't look forward to. Hope use can help.

    Gas & elec on a ppm now costs about the same as paying on receipt of a quarterly bill. To pay less you need to have a credit meter and be on a tariff were you pay by monthly DD and to reduce the cost further manage the account online.

    To change meters you will (a) have to pass a credit check and (b) probably pay £50-60 per meter to get them changed.

    You best bet is to look up you consumption (kwh) for the last year from your annual statement and put this into a switching site once selecting ppm and then again selecting credit paying by DD. The results will show you the difference the 2 payment method make to the costs. Ignore the 'savings' column just look at the total cost figure.
