Problem with TV

Hi was wondering if anyone could help, we won a Philps LCD 15inch TV some months ago and due to us decorating we didnt open it, now i have just come to fit it in our bedroom and when its all wired up all i get is a blank bluish screen with lines across, then they fade after a few seconds and then all is just blue. Anyone got any ideas could it be the power lead? We dont even know which shop it is from as it was a prize.

Any ideas?

Have you scanned for channels?

I have a Bush LCD tv and when there is no input (ie sky box off or dvd off) then I get a blue screen. As above try scanning for the channels and see if the manual says anything about it. A quick test is to connect something like a dvd player to the scart connection and power that up. At lease you will be able to tell straight away if the screen is all ok.

hi thanks for your reseponse, the screen is the same whether the aerial is plugged in or not. I have tried scanning for channels but no joy there. Will try connecting to DVD and see how i get on. Not sure what else to do.

Would Comet etc perhaps fix it or have any ideas if i took to one of their stores for some advise?

Hi have tried adding a different power lead as i thought this might be the problem but it is still the same, anyone else have anymore ideas?

So do you get a picture when connected to your DVD?

Hi, sorry i didnt put that in my other post, no i dont get a picture, just the blue screen with lines that fade out after about 6 or 7 seconds.
