Barclarcard Platinum Offer Letter....

Hello folks...

I am a Barclays account holder.... Last year I transfered 5k to Barclays and applied for a creditcard, I was declined.

I have spent the 5k and now there is nothing in my account but a few quid. No direct debits either....

Today I received a letter Barclaycard Platinum Guaranteed Offer' claiming the person named on this letter is guaranteed this card, got 1 month to respond in order to claim this offer.

Is it real? Is it a circular? Is it just marketing?

I have 2 other creditcards not from Barclays, in total 7k between the 2, but I have not defaulted on them and always paid the minimum payment.

Can anyopne advise if its a genuine offer please??

Kind regards to anyone who answers!

barclays tend to give customers these, as long as they treat their current accounts well. Should be fine, but apart from lame 0% not that good
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

    Hi All,

I also received the same barclaycard platinum offer letter this morning. I have excellent credit rating from all three credit rating agencies. I pay all my bills by direct debit from my barclays bank account. no missed or late payments or any adverse negative marks on my credit history. In terms of available credit - I have one credit card from HSBC with a small credit limit of only £1700, I handly use it but when I do I only pay the minimum by direct debit.

my credit reports show that all my bills etc..about 7 payments are paid on time every month.

Which brings me to my question. if i accept the barclaycard what is the real average credit limit for this card??

As I do not want to accept the card and later to find out when the card drops in my mail box.........all i get is a petty small credit limit of say...£1000 or £2000.

    Thanks
