Just wondering, on a 4 year old house wether we should bother with a structural survery?
We've had a value survey done, the house is a new build. I'm not looking for a thorough inspection survery, just the structural survey ... to check if the building, etc is okay.
How long does this process take? And how should i go about finding someone to do this?

Is there anything particular that you've noticed and are concerned about? If not I'd do it the other way around. Pay for a decent general survey and they'll flag up anything structural that may need further investigation. I think you'll find out a lot more about the property this way.
If you're determined go to the IstructE website. There is a function where you can put in your postcode and find local engineers. Call a few and see what they think.0 -
