Thanks to all of you - there are some really good suggesstions here! I especially like the idea of the family tree and the other bike to do-up, I think these would really appeal to him. Cheers! :beer:0

Treat him to Goodwood next year. (My dad went this year for first time and I had to sit through sooo many bike pics it was unbelievable...he had a great time.) Tickets to see indoor motorcycle trials (Dougie Lampard etc) at Sheffield Arena 29th Dec 06 (I think.) What about a 2/3 night trip to Isle of Man (he can pretend he's the late Joey Dunlop and relive the TT roads!) Treat him to visit to motorcycle museum (birmingahm?) Is he interested in speedway...perhaps tickets to Telford Ice speedway on 11th Feb 07 (always a good time, 2 meetings either 3pm or 7.30pm.) As others have stated trip to Eden project would be good or maybe membership to National Trust/Gardeners World magazine or perhaps you could pay for him and your mum to go to the Gardeners World show later in the year (june time I think) and pay for a couple of nights stay somewhere. What about trip to brewery such as Masham, Nth Yorks (for Black Sheep ale) or Batemans, Wainfleet, skegness, Lincs?
Good luck - qsq x0
