Travel Insurance and Pregnancy

We recently realised we would have a problem as the Travel Insurance we booked for a trip this New Year booked six months ago would not cover my wife for her stage of Pregnancy (we didn't know she was Pregnant when all was booked!)
I thought the link of the one company we found with a slightly extended policy (full cover upto 32 weeks) might be of use to others

Just another point to check Dazza (although whether it is valid, depends on how far gone your wife is at the time of travel)...
Have you checked with your airline that they will accept her to fly? Most airlines will not take a pregnant woman after 33 weeks, and some required a letter from her GP or midwife stating she is fit to fly if she is between 28 and 33 weeks. (Note that they will probably want to know how far the pregnancy is at the time of the return flight, as they won't take her if the homeward flight will be beyond the 33 weeks, even if the outward flight is within the timeframe.)
HTH, and best wishes for the new baby.

Ok.... there is a company who's domain can be read phat travel (aka Fat Travel) that does cover for later pregnancy women? Do they also do extended cover for "portly" gentlemen? classicAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers
