Barclaycard Balance Transfer Problem

Just wondering if anyone else has had the same problem as me?

I had a tiny balance on my Barclaycard mid January which I cleared. On the statement I received via post it told me to check mybarclaycard online as I had a promotional balance transfer rate.

As my existing 0% deal with another credit card company was coming to an end I subsequently registered online to find I had 0% for 18 Months, brilliant I thought.

So I transferred the balance incurring the balance transfer fee and have since found they charged me interest. When I phoned them to query this they said the balance transfer was done at the standard rate and I must have selected the wrong rate. Anyone who knows the website will know this isn't easy done as the rate selector takes up about half the page. Obvously I disputed this as the only option was the 0%.After checking & coming back to me they then said that this offer wasnt available to me and wouldnt have been on the website. Wrong again!!

They have given me the token gesture of refunding the interest and giving me a months grace to move the balance but I want my balance transfer fee refunded also. If it was a mistake on the website fair enough but I know what I signed up for so dont expect it to cost me? After much holding, transferring etc I hung up as I was getting nowhere.

So I called again this afternoon on a different number provided by the online help assistant. After to speaking to one of the representitives I got speaking to a manager both of which had American accents. Told him how insulted I was by the earlier staff in thinking I would have been stupid enough to sign up for a deal that wasnt 0%. I then told him that if it wasnt resolved either by giving me my 0% or refunding me the original balance trasnfer fee I would close my account and cancel my insurance with them.

This sparked his interest and he was able to tell me that I had card protection and that they could also offer me identity protection. Asking me if I was interested I said no I wont be considering anything from Bcard until this is resolved. He went as far to ask that if he reversed the balance transfer would I take out the insurance ( the nerve of this guy!!). Seeing what was happening I said I would consider it. SO bascally listened to the speel from his colleague while he "sorted out" my balance transfer. After listening I said that after all that happened I couldnt consider it today at which point she said someone would be in touch re my balance transfer.

I feel totally disgusted with my treatment and although I havent heard anything back as yet I am not holding my breath. I told the managers colleague that I felt the decision on my balance transfer rate was dependent on me taking the insurance to which she said "I wouldn't know".

Just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience with BCard regarding them moving the goal posts on the rate or the above.
