Do I have too much credit?

Hello Newbie here, I have been following this forum for the last 6 months or so…lots of good advice so keep up the good work!

Hopefully you guys could off me some advice, I have £19,250 available on credit cards my gross salary is only £26,000; I have never missed a payment and pay in full every month.

- Halifax Clarity £5,500 (Main Card, monthly spend £400 paid in full every month)
- Halifax One £9,250 (Back up, monthly spend £100-£150 paid in full every month)
- Barclay Freedom £4,500 (0% until Feb-12, balance £1600, monthly payments £150)

Questions
  • Does having such a high amount of credit affect my credit rating negatively?
  • Would this be a issue when I apply for a mortgage 6-12 months?
  • Should I cancel my Halifax One Card?
Thank you in advance.

mortgage providers are primilary concerned about affordability and your ability to pay the mortgage; so they will be concerned about actual debt and not the sum of your credit limits/facilities
