What do Halifax ask re: credit limit increase?

We've never actually asked for a credit limit increase before, we've always just been sent letters telling us whatever company in question is increasing our limit and if we dont want it, to get in touch.
Just had a 12 month 0% offer from Halifax but that's our lowest limit. You cant apply online for an increase, you have to phone them so I'm just wondering what info they will require?
Anyone any idea? I'm not sure whether to call them or not in case the re-assess the limit downwards instead of upwards. Sometimes it's safer to leave well alone.
