help CAN I CLAIM OFF MY TRAVEL INSURANCE

does anyone know if i can claim off my travel insurance. i got a strangulated hernia whilst holiday i think while moving my suitcase which was not over the weight limit,, even though i was not aware of it other than a light stomach ache. ( I dont recall doing anything that would give me a hernia and did not have one when i went away to usa.) but while on the plane home it got worse, the day after i returnd from holiday i was due back to work the next day. I went to the doctor and ended up in emergency ward and had an emergency operation iv been off work 6 weeks and have no company sick pay. As this started when i was away could i claim lost wages???

Without seeing the insurance policy we cannot be sure but it seems most unlikely. Travel insurance is there to provide the cost of emergency care whilst you are away until it is possible for you to return to this country and you were already back.

Some policies might pay a modest allowance whilst you are in hospital abroad but most won't and, as you were not in hospital abroad, it seems unlikely that you would qualify even if such a provision was made.

Do make sure you get Statutory Sick pay and any other benefits you are entitled to.
