Perhaps, if someone could find the office finger extractor at the Office of Faffing and Twaddling, and keep the sloths there awake long enough for someone actually to pull a finger out, they might begin to understand that if they revoked a consumer credit licence or two, such abuse might be curbed?
Part of the problem with the OFT may lie in the fact that nearly 16% of their income stems from the sale of consumer credit licences, so they would seem to have a significant disincentive to police debt collecting effectively. Perhaps we should just be grateful that the government has not extended this into a burglar licensing scheme, whereby part of the police budget could be provided from the sale of annual burglar licences?

Back in 2009 I put details of how to make a complaint against DCAs on this thread.
Strictly, it only works if the matter relates to something covered by the Consumer Credit Act - but it is still worth asking for payment for "Distress and Inconvenience".
If you do have to go to the Financial Ombudsman Service, the DCA will get a £500 bill if it is considered in its jurisdiction even if they win and may do if it is outside of jurisdiction.0 -
If there is any more agro, report them to the OFT.
No, she shouldn't report them to the OFT "if there is any more agro". She should report them to the OFT now. And maybe even contact the police - intimidation is a criminal offence.
The poor woman - or her husband - doesn't owe a bean to these cretins, and yet they bully and harrass her in her own home.
If enough folk complain about these muppets, then the OFT might actually get off their bottoms and do something about it.

Hi, I wondered if somebody could point me in the right direction as I too am having issues with MH.
It would probably be better to have your own thread.
I'll move your post and replies into one.
