Hi, I wondered if somebody could point me in the right direction as I too am having issues with MH.

Before I start I can honestly say that I have checked my credit score with Experian and have no outstanding debts.

I was green enough to call them several weeks ago after receiving a letter about 'personal matters'. Alarm bells started to ring when I was asked to give my date of birth, which I declined as we are always told not to give out personal info and I didn't have a clue who they were.

After scanning the internet I realised that they were a debt collection agency. Thinking I had nothing to worry about I just left it. I received a second call, again insisting that I give my date of birth in order that they could prove who I was. I did point out to the bully of a bloke that surely it was for them to prove who they were and what this debt was, rather than me prove who I am. He informed me that he would put me down as a 'declined'.

To cut a long story short I have sent two recorded delivery letters, stating that I was aware of the 'conditions' laid out by the OFT (supposidly, if I dispute the claim they should no longer contact me, but this does not seem to be the case). Does anyone have any suggestions as I am now waiting for the calls to start again ????

Verbally request them to stop calling you and send them this letter:

    Your Street

    City
    Postcode
    DATE HERE
    Company Name
    Road

    Town
    City / County
    Postcode

    Dear Sirs
    Harassment by telephone

    Account Number: XXXXXXX
I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.
I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls. (Delete if necessary)
I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.
I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.
If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.
Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company will be recorded. (**Even if you don‘t yet have recording equipment!!**)

    Yours faithfully,
