i was told i was abusing the system and he didnt belive me that someone had told me to get on this service. I was Questioned about the cost of my ticket!
and made to sound cheap for getting it this price..
I DID sign up for trail tickets.. arent I doing the company a favor.?!

So i was told i had to get off. Miles away from home in the dark late at night

quot;As a gesture of goodwill, Virgin Trains have decided to ease their normal ticket restrictions. Customers holding tickets (including Advance Purchase tickets) dated for travel from Monday 31 December 2007 to Thursday 3 January 2008 who decide to travel will be allowed to travel by Virgin Trains services only up to and including Tuesday 8 January. Customers should travel as close to their originally booked time as possible. These arrangements only apply for Virgin Trains customers and do not apply to services operated by London Midland."

If I were you I'd write an official letter of complaint, given that ticketing staff are directly employed by Virgin. Just as long as all the above applies and this was the same route affected by Network Rail's messing about. Demand a refund for the ticket and for any extra costs incurred as a result of getting kicked off the train (e.g. taxi), and try to get the time as accurate as possible, in case the ticket inspector logged it too. You'll have to do well though, as Virgin Customer service are the usual shower... Try writing to a higher office than the basic customer service muppets.
  • Also, for the last few days the https://www.printtraintickets.com/virgin/selecttowns.aspx site has been 100% DOWN. Not sure why, perhaps lots of people wanted to book cheap tickets to enjoy the disruption!
