That would be the maximum, it depends on your income.

    Carers allowance?

You mentioned before that you were looking after one/some of your grandchildren - did this get formalised or are the parents still claiming benefits for them?

Double check your entitlements on the Turn2us online benefit calculator - is there a difference between the sum indicated there and the letter you received?

yes my husband gets ca i forgot about that.yes i am looking after 2 grandchildren but im still waiting for them to be added to my claim the parents stopped their claim last week.i went on turn2us and it says for 8 children (which it will be when the grandchildren are added)i should get £378 a week.but as of tomorrow without the grandchildren added my ctc has only gone up £6 a week but i though it was going up £250 a year per child which would give a rise of £34ish a week i must have got it wrong somewhere alone the line.maybe when i get my renewal form it will increase then

My CTC has gone down by £3 a week, but with it being the first week of a new tax year, I thought that it might be right. The first payment is often slightly different than all other remaining payments. Could this be what has happened with the OP?

If it is still lower next week, I'm going to ring the helpline and ask. (I'm also on IS and I receive the maximum amount for two children, one with severe disabilities).

If you're on IS then it will go up the max ie £255 per year per child. But they might not have altered the run-on payments, when was your last award? What did it say your run-on payments are ie from April 2011?
