Voluntary Termination of PCP - obligations?
All,
We've begun the process to voluntarily terminate our PCP deal early - the car was depreciating at the rate we were paying for it, and was already in -ve equity, so it made sense to ditch it and get something cheaper to run.
The car has always been well cared for and is in good condition etc (easily passes all the physical condition checks) - and has always been serviced according to the on board computer etc.
The only thing(s) it's not necessarily had are some of the "recommended additional items" - stuff that might help the car run better, but not essential - even if (in one case at least) it produces a light on the dashboard for the first minute after starting the car.
Question is, can the finance company insist we pay for these "nice to have dones"? Or do our obligations stop at keeping the car in physically good shape, with the minimum service schedule honoured?

I suspect the company won't be pleased if it is returned with a warning light on.
I presume the car is in warranty and since you have serviced properly I would be talking to the garage about sorting anything like this under warranty.
You do not want to give these finance companies any excuse to charge you, because in most cases it will be a lot more that doing the work yourself.
(I hope I have read your OP correctly)0
