Mixer shower- water pressure

Hi,
We just had the 'Triton luca thermostatic mixer shower' installed by a plumber -it replaced the old broken shower, we just moved to this house so not sure if that one was OK before.
The problem is that that there is hardly any hot water coming out - we've got a combi boiler (so I assume the shower is feeding from the hot water tank?) and the water pressure from the hot tap is fine.
Any ideas?

most combi boiler systems dont have a hot water cylinder.
have you checked the house properly?Get some gorm.0 -
Ours has a hot water cylinder in the airing cabinet, it's quite an old combi, was installed at the beginning of 1990s0

What is the make and model of the combi?

So its not a Combination boiler then.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Combis may be used to heat a hot water cylinder although it ain't that frequent. Boiler doesn't know or care if its heating up a cylinder or not but the controls must be wired correctly as S or Y plan. But CH's question is very germane.
OP - if you've only just had it fitted then get the fitter back. However, if you do have a cylinder it sounds like you have insufficient head and he hasn't done his job properly.

Thanks for your replies. I will check the boiler make in the evening. What do you mean by 'insufficient head'?0

you need a certain height between the top of the shower and the bottom water level in the tank.
its called the head. 2m is usual. anything less will give problems.Get some gorm.0 -
Thanks for your reply. First I pay to the plumber and then I have to investigate myself!
Is it it the hot water tank? The tank is in the airing cabinet which is about the same level as the shower.
The shower was installed using the same piping as the old shower which presumably worked at some point for the previous owners.
Could it be that he connected it incorrectly?
Or the previous shower was more powerful?0 -
maybe the previous shower never worked properly?
maybe they had a pump?
there could be a blockage in the pipeline?
valves could be the wrong type?Get some gorm.0 -
No you don't you call the guy back and get him to sort it. He touched it last, you paid him for it, it is not to your satisfaction - get him back!polzovatel wrote: »Thanks for your reply. First I pay to the plumber and then I have to investigate myself!
Am not going to answer the rest of your post in case I encourage you to investigate further instead of getting the guy back.
