Your views sought on highest credit limit card

Hi All
I am looking to take advantage of one of the 0% purchase deals out there at the moment. Specifically, one that lasts in excess of 12 months such as M&S, Barclaycard Platinum or MBNA Platinum.
I would like as high a credit limit as possible to give me some additional liquidity for the next year. So, can anyone let me know (through personal experience or otherwise) which cards are likely to have the highest credit limits and allow 0% on purchases for as least 12 months?
Any other tips (such as getting more than one card) would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm... not sure who you are quoting, but if a CRA, then it's pretty meaningless and a waste of money if you paid to get it a score.
I've had the highest credit limits on application from Barclaycard (Plat), Natwest and MBNA. The first two I got 10K on each a couple of years ago (applied the same day!) MBNA 8K (?)though I already had another card with them on a 24K limit (which I reduced it as part of the application for the second one). The 24K limit is the most I've ever had (discounting so-called limit free chargecards).
Don't want to go into my financials, but they are probably better than yours based on what you say. Bear in mind they look at other stuff too - how much of your credit is used, people associated with you etc, what kind of job you have, possibly age, etc etc. Also policies vary over time.
I've had relatively low limits from Tesco (6K), Post Office (4K), Santander (7K).
Barclaycard just raised my 10K to 12K. After I eventually cancelled my 24K limit, MBNA began raising my second card and the limit on that now stands at 19K. Probably to do with my usage.
Don't know out of those who give 0% purchase deals - didn't think there were so many around, so perhaps you just apply for for a couple.0 -
Thanks for your comments - all very useful.chattychappy wrote: »Hmm... not sure who you are quoting, but if a CRA, then it's pretty meaningless and a waste of money if you paid to get it a score.
It's not and I didn't.0 -

It's not and I didn't.
Which begs the question why do you perceive it to be excellent?
In other news, my missus got a 12k limit with a 0% deal onm MBNA if that helps.0 -

May I ask whose it is then?dondo_nagasaki wrote: »It's not my perception.
But do they offer a card with 12 months 0% on purchases without minimum transaction value constraints? It does - thanks.0 -

A "Smart Search" which does not leave a record on one's credit history. Not a CRA, not definitive, but a useful resource.YorkshireBoy wrote: »But do they offer a card with 12 months 0% on purchases without minimum transaction value constraints?
Good question. I took it to be implicit that it did based on the context of my original question.0
