Can anyone interpret a Hermes card?

I had a hermes delivery off Dorthy Perkins and the car was wonderfully filled out with a mobile number to text. After missing the 2nd delivery ( we were home but never hear out door) I text to say we were in all day now or they could leave it with neighour (which I has written on delivery info on DPs website) if they were still in area or the next day we were in till 11. They came back that afternoon and left the parcel with the neighbour. So I was impressed with this service. But by the looks of it this is not common amongst the Hermes delivery people!
Was it not left with a neighbour?0 -

Still no contact today but one of my ebay items is now well over due and although the seller says it went via the Home Delivery Network I suspect it may have ended up with Hermes.
To my knowledge Hermes don't deliver any parcels for HDN, certainly not in my area.
I hope your parcels arrive.
Giggles_Fairy, I think you only here about the problems, you can read horror stories about all delivery companies. I'm glad you were pleased with the service.0 -

Nope, there is no sign of it. I *think* it might be my sons missing order from Top Man, he is going to contact them today to see.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Still nothing from hermes and nothing on my missing parcel from a TRS on ebay. I've had to open my first paypal claim for about a year and I feel really guilty. At least though I could see the new dispute process on paypal in action, if you want to keep the dispute on paypal and not go back to ebay you now have to choose the paypal option twice. At one point it brings up a bright and pretty advert telling you that an ebay dispute is easy and to 'click' here, but underneath that there is a smaller higlighted field that says continue to a paypal claim.
It also now opens just a basic dispute, not a full chargeback and although I've left it as a basic disptue for now i did look at how easy it will be to escalate and it seems pretty clear to me. Fingers crossed I don't have to escalate and it all gets sorted out without either me or the seller losing out.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I had a missed delivery from them the other day too, I was in at the time so I can only assume they rang the wrong doorbell and gave up....card was useless too, nothing on it - not even a name, as there are 4 people the parcel could have potentially been for (Me + OH or the flat upstairs) it wasn't exactly much help....thankfully my neighbour bought it round for me later that evening....MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11

I hope your son received his order from Topman via Hermes, please keep us posted.
Always awful to have the complaint and no follow up.0 -

The Top man parcel finally limped here several days late but NOT with Hermes. Then yesterday my lost HDNL parcel turned up and was left on the outside step, 11 days after posting and still with no tracking available online!

My son sent something via Hermes. It took them almost two weeks to collect, and then they lost it !
He has now received a neutral from the buyer, and the £70 item is lost. He can't get a refund until they officially declare it lost.
Won't be using them againYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever0 -

I came home last night to find a card in the front door from Hermes that says 'Sorry I missed you' . fair enough except I can't make head or tail of it. All it has is a date, no parcel number, contact details, web address for re delivery. I'm also not sure whether it was left or not as there is writing across the box that is printed 'Item was left' but it is almost illegible.
I think it says 'trial to return' which is illogical, my OH thinks it says 'tried to deliver'. Yet it doesn't say where it was left . The boxes about retaining my parcel are all blank whch makes me think it has been left somewhere.
However, I can see no sign of it and I don't have any logical hiding places in the front garden, I checked under the car and in the bushes, but nothing.
I don't even know what the parcel is as I'm waiting for several items and I thought all of them were supposed to be coming RM. I suppose unless anyone cna come up with a brilliant idea I'll have to wait and see which of my outstanding items doesn't arrive and contact that seller? Assuming it is an ebay item of ocurse as I've got goods outstanding from other online places as well.soolin wrote again 14-04-2011, 7:05 AM

The parcel from Topman could not have been sent via Hermes in the first place then soolin. the only time the delivery company would be changed is if the courier requested it and you would be informed, i.e courier has refused to deliver because they have been mistreated, sworn at, in danger or bitten by roaming dogs etc.
I'm sure you would agree Hermes can't be held responsible for the way HDNL deliver, we are not connected.
I would still like to know about the random card from Hermes that was the topic of your thread, nothing yet connected to any of the deliveries you've mentioned.
I live in a 'difficult' area for couriers, we have something in common, some of my customers think I can deliver even though they're hardly ever home, some request I deliver to their bins, under bushes or besides their gnomes, it's always a no.terra_ferma wrote 07-04-2011, 10:42 PM
they are a bit funny, these Hermes people... the guy who delivers to me is a bit moody, sometimes OK, other times really rude.
he's never left a card, I think if I'm not in he just comes back, as working from home I'm in most of the time.
don't think I'd ever use them
i get some really dodgy looking people from different companies knocking at my door... scruffy, no manners.. even dodgier looking vans...

TF you talk a load of rubbish, they are a bit funny, these Hermes people...That's a bit like me saying they are a bit funny, these Ebay sellers...
I get some really dodgy looking customers, rude, no manners, half dressed.
I think you have a really good courier, he calls back(so no need to leave a card), that's not usual nor expected by Hermes.
I do think if anyone is going to name and shame a company, then do it factually with a follow up.0 -
Just a point, but if you are posting on behalf of a company as you appear to be Sadie then you have to have explicit permission from MSE to do so.2 angels in heaven :A0
