Combined life assurance and mortgage protection for an expat

Hi, I live abroad but have a large mortgage in the UK. I want to take out some form of income protection insurance that covers me for life and mortgage protection so that in the event of illness preventing me from working, I can continue to pay the mortgage. Can anyone advise me about what company offers this to an expat? Thanks.

It's a long, long time since I trained on stuff like this, but I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do with a UK provider. Back in the 1980s, offshore business was handled by the Channel Islands subsidiaries of big insurers and banks. The likes of Hill Samuel, if they're still around.
I'd approach an IFA first, as they will be in the best position to advise you.I am a mortgage broker. Hi,
I'm quite sure that no UK insurer will be able to provide you cover sincce you dont live in the UK.
I've tried with a few major insurers for my clients and they have declined.
Even if you are a non-british working temporarily in the UK, these insurers generally don't cover you but in your case you don't even live here so I don't see any chance.

Some uk insurers have foreign arms. It depends where you are in the world but yes you are VERY limited to what you can get. Friends Provident International may be able to help.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
