Found out pregnant during 30 days consultation period

I found out I am pregnant a week after my 30 days consultation period started. then I will have another 30 days notice period. I do not mind being redundant but just wonder whether I can have any SMP. I know that from the 7th week of maternity leave, I will get £124 per week. but if I am not employed, do I still get SMP. I think that it will be quite unfair if the government won't pay me anything as I have been paying NI when I was working full time.
can anyone help?

Sorry to hear about your redundancy, but congratulations on your pregnancy.
In order to qualify for SMP, you need to be continuously employed for 26 weeks at the 15th week before your baby is due. It doesn't sound like you will.
In that case, you may be entitled to Maternity Allowance, which is paid for by the Job Centre Plus. It is the same amount as SMP.0 -
indeed maternity allowance means so long as you worked 26 weeks in a 60 or so week window (i.e. if you worked 6 months before conceiving then you would get it).0
