Replaced one a couple of days ago & the screw to fix the light fitting cut straight into the live when I secured it.

when i took the ceiling pendant down for a look, there were four black wires, all conected to the neutral connections on the existing pendant and i yellow wire, there are two light fittings in the room, when i took the switch off the wall for a look at wiring there are two red wires connected to both coms and a link between them and 1 yellow wire and 1 blue wire into both L1 connections....i am assumimg the yellow is a live switched as there is a yellow wire at the ceiling conection, and am also assuming the blue is the switch wire for the other ceiling light

Ahh - so there are two lights then. Never mind whatever it is it sounds like you have something of a piece of bodgery and you touch it at your peril if you are unable to identify the conductors correctly.

Get your mate round to take a boo at it.

    Cheers
