My computer is under a year old and this is the second time it has done this. I switch it on and nothing but a blue HP screen.Absoloutly no buttons work tried every button) and it just stays F button options on this screen(has F button options at bottom but they dont work).
The first time this happened my OH unplugged it (as it wont switch off by button). He left it for about 4 hours and it was fine and worked perfectly.
This is now about 4 monthson and it has done the exact same thing. I hoovered it, turned it off for 4 hours and it still would not work properly(exact symptoms as before). So i switched it off last night by the plug and this morning its fine again. Im worried to switch it off in case it goes again.Any help as to why this is happening would be great.

To be honest it could be a number of things depending on when it blue screens and what the message is. It can be hardware, software, firmwire or just incorrect drivers.
Have installed or changed anything recently i.e.: just before it failed for the first time?
If so have you try system restore under XP?
I would highly recommend that you make a backup or any photo's or documents that you don't want to lose just in case it gets any worse.
EDIT: Reading it again it I may have mis-read. I'm taking that you may mean a HP blue screen and not a Windows crash screen. In that case I would look under troubleshooting in the manual or on their web support site.Regards,
Dave
