Fraudulent Pay Pal Transaction

Just had an email from Paypal as a receipt for a payment i have apparently sent to someone. I didnt send this so it appears that someone has hacked my paypal account. Should i call the police?

Before you do anything else, log into your paypal account (not from any link in the e-mail), and confirm that a payment has been made. It could well be a spoof e-mail to try and get you to reveal your log in details.
If a payment has gone out, immediately change your password, and then telephone paypal and inform them about it.0 -

It is definately done. I have changed password but Paypal dont have a uk phone number that is open. I have cancelled the card with the bank but they said it will take 10 days to investigate :mad:0 -
You can call the Paypal office in Dublin.
Depending on the telephone provider you have, it might not bee very expensive.
If you prefer, you can call the Dublin Help Centre directly on 00353 1 436 9004. Please be aware that this is an international phone number. (International calling rates apply.)
