If you have a PO Box and want the mail delivered to your home, the cost is £200 this year. I only paid £125 last year. Just ridiculous.

Our club's collection-only PO box has gone from £62.85 to £170pa!!!
There are plenty of alternative redirection and mailbox services about, especially in London, but few are cheaper unless you can negotiate hard.
Also, some will charge a postage and / or handling fee for each piece of mail, which could very quickly mount up.

As well as cost, you need to consider
    -the volume of mail
-the importance of a local address
-the need for a professional address
-whether you can pick the mail up to save costs.
-confidentiality (the address behind a PO Box will normally be disclosed on request)

having scanned the suggestions in the last two posts, I can't find anything that would work for us. We need a local PO Box, with delivery, a London address would be very confusing. The only one that's at all local is MBE and that's even more expensive than Royal Mail!

That's probably why Royal Mail knew it could increase its charges considerably and still keep most of the business!

You might find something suitable locally if you look long enough. A small independent typing / office services firm would be best. The large virtual office providers such as Regus are aimed at corporates with bigger pockets.
