DLA renewal

Hi, My DLA renewal forms have just landed through the door - with a heavy crash! What would be good to know is - if the renewal starts from the day they receive the forms back, or if it starts from the day the previous allowance ends? I'm concerned that if I get downgraded, I'll lose money from my current allowance period.…

Am I not right in thinking that when you send it back say 3 months before the current one ends, and if they think that it should go down, they will drop the current award down to the lower level, even though you may have a few months left of th eold award?
Isn't this what they call new information received?
