NHS and Council Discounts Alton Towers

Just a reminder as the year starts that you can get NHS discounts and Local Authority discounts to attractions in the merlin entertainment group (Chessington, Thorpe park, Warwick castle, Alton towers etc).
There's probably employees of other companies (police? fire? utilities?) who can access the discount too, but I can't find out for you. (I'm NHS, OH is local council)
My OH emailed from his .gov.uk address for the code and they responded the following day.
http://www.merlingroups.co.uk/corporate/merlin-corporate-discounts.aspx?tabname=faqs#answer-3
For example
We were able to book a room that sleeps up to 4 (2 adults and 2 children) including breakfast for £80 the room.
Theme park tickets £23 each
Water park tickets £12.60 each
Obviously you may need to take ID/wage slips + photo ID or you may need to provide your employee number when booking.
Other money savvy people of course know about the 2 for 1 vouchers knocking around. Apparently theres a 50% off code via The Sun for the Alton towers hotel knocking around.
Hope this helps someone.
