Currently if a supplier changes a meter unecessarily they pay a penalty to the meter provider for lost revenue which obviously deters supplier from doing it. Under a government led rollout this issue will be addressed so suppliers will be able to fit the meters as fast as their workforce allows.I'm not so sure that I agree with / understand your point on the second. Why should Government involvement mean it can happen faster or lack of mean it can only happen when the meter is due to be changed?IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
