Is my change of name gonna be a problem?

Didn't get any replies in another section of the forum. Hoping someone over here can help. I've just changed my name by deed poll. Just wondered whether i'd have to declare my former name for the rest of my life when making a credit application?
Also i'm worried of passing credit checks as i'm sure not all applications have the "former name" field. I just spoke to someone at equifax who said they can't change or link the names they can only add a note for creditors to see. She also said my credit applications are likely to be referred and further proofs of I.D. requested. Is this true? I don't think i agree with her from what i've read on here before but surely she should know :undecided

Your previous name should appear on your credit file, just imagine other wise people would rack up debt and just change their name, so yes you should decalre your previous name if they ask, as if you dont they may well just find out anyway.0

Yoir previous name will appear on your credit report. I changed my name by deed poll about 6 years ago and it has had no detrimental effect whatsoever on my credit rating.0

Applications will ask have you had a name change in the last 6 years. Should be no problem so long as you have correct photo I'd with new name.0
