Don't leave on stanndby, but do I just turn off at the wall or unplug?

I know I shouldn't leave things on standby, but is it ok to turn off at the wall or is it better to unplug too?

Joke above in case you had not guessed, but switch off is fine, unplug if going away, just in case some power surge occurs, very unlikely of course, but bit like turning gas off at meter, do if if you canWhen an eel bites your bum, that's a Moray0 -
Had me thinking for a minute there.
So unplugging is a safety measure, and has no bearing on consumption.
