I was misleading when I implied that R40s can be submitted online. I've discovered that they can't!
The package I referred to does have an R40 facility, but the only advantage of using it as far as I can see is that it allows the importing of the previous year's data including the taxpayer's name and address and references. This would be of advantage to Tax Agents dealing with a number of forms as it would save time before completing the current year's figures and printing the R40 for submission by post.
I shall continue to complete a full SA return for the member of my family who always gets a rebate, and submit it online. This is no more complicated than completing an R40 and has always generated a repayment direct to her bank within a few days.".....where it is corrupt, purge it....."0
