Sold an item 10 days ago for £7.99 but the buyer never paid. I emailed her about 5 days ago asking if she was intending to pay and no reply. 2 days ago I opened a case for no payment received. I've just had a message in last ten minutes saying 'Please cancel transaction - I bidded on wrong item'
Never had this before....what do I do? If I cancel will I still have to pick up the ebay fees? If I don't cancel though will she get an unpaid item strike? I don't really want to make a loss but don't want to make myself an enemy!!
What do others do?

Let the npb run its course and make sure you block the buyer from bidding. You can have any feedback they leave removed, I believe, if a npb is complete0

You gave the numpty plenty of time to pay, I would go through with the NPB & let her either pay or get a strike. If she bidded, (urgh, she should be banned just for that), then couldn't let you know immediately that she had made a mistake then the chances are she's too stupid to accept a mutual cancellation, which will leave you with the FVF's.
Block her so that she can't bid on anymore of your auctions.0 -
Thanks guys. Sorry to ask but how do I block her?0

That will tell you how to do it, also make sure that your buyer reqirements are set tight, again all info on how to is explained on that page.0 -
I wouldn't do a cancellation either. I'm normally happy to go for a mutual if they make contact straight away. In this case they may well refuse it, and if so you would be stuck with fees as well as a possible negative.
She could still pay and give you a neg, no option is risk free in these cases.0 -
My vote is also for completing the full NPB and giving the buyer a strike, I would not even contemplate a mutual. I would not cancel the case so there will be an unpaid record to the account. It cannot be a mistake as it requires 2 clicks to commit to a purchase0
